TrekNorth History

TrekNorth was founded by a group of Bemidji-area parents and educators who wanted to see a small and academically rigorous charter school become an option for local students and families.  In 2003, TrekNorth High School opened it's doors to 160 students in grades 9-12.

Since 2003, TrekNorth has continued to focus on college prep academics, outdoor adventure, and service learning, all parts of the original mission of the school. The programming around those elements has evolved, and the school has grown significantly.  In 2006, TrekNorth opened a middle school with the addition of grades 7 and 8, and it grew again in 2013 when 6th grade was added. Additionally, in 2013 the school moved into a new facility with more classrooms and green space, both of which enhanced the programming at TrekNorth.

TrekNorth Jr. & Sr. High School is now a nationally recognized college prep charter school serving 245 students in grades 6-12.
