Special Education at TrekNorth

Mission: TrekNorth’s Special Education Mission is to provide a range of services specific to individual student needs that empower each student to maximize their potential in order to make a difference in their local and global communities.

Vision: TrekNorth believes all children have a fundamental right to an education appropriate to their needs. It is the belief of TrekNorth that the purpose of Special Education and of regular instruction is shared with a high rate of inclusion. TrekNorth seeks to provide educational services in an environment that is consistent with the academic, functional, emotional, and social needs of the individual student.


Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC)

Mission: TrekNorth Jr. and Sr. High School’s Special Education Advisory Council’s (SEAC) mission is to empower parents of children from birth to age 21 with disabilities to act as an advisory body to the district through the special education representative by:

  • Informing the special education department on current issues, program development, and parental concerns.

  • Serving as an advocate for high quality special education programs

  • Promoting communication between family, school, and community.

  • Actively seeking input from students and parents

  • Promoting TrekNorth’s mission to “prepare students to make a positive difference in their local and global communities.”


TrekNorth’s SEAC meets several times a year to work on both short term and long term goals to promote the mission. If you are interested in joining SEAC, please contact TrekNorth’s Special Education Coordinator at 218-444-1888.
